GATES participated in the Horizon 2020 Transport info day on 13 December 2018. The event addressed Horizon 2020 ‘Smart, green and integrated transport’ calls for funding under the 2018-2020 with a focus in Mobility for Growth, Automated Road Transport, Green Vehicles. The company’s representatives also participated in the networking session establishing contact with main actors and stakeholders in the field.

1st Technical Meeting of the Adriatic/Ionian Supply Chain Initiative

GATES participated at the 1st Technical Meeting of the Adriatic/Ionian Supply Chain Initiative organized by the Port Authority of Igoumenitsa S.A. The participants of the meeting, originated from Greek and Italian port authorities, representatives from the Greek Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and a number of relevant stakeholders, based their discussions and agreement of mutual strategies to further support the macro-regional process of the Adriatic-Ionian region.

“Connecting Europe Conference”, 21-22 September 2017, Tallinn Estonia

The Connecting Europe Conference co-organised by the European Commission and the Estonian Presidency of the Council, was relaised on 21-22 September 2017, with the objective to identify policy actions and financing solutions to invest in the Transport sector with the perspective of the post-2020 EU financial framework. In the framework of the TEN-T discussions and progress of CEF projects, GATES participated as part of the team implementing the ADRI-UP CEF project, promoting the positive cross-border cooperation dimension and the development of sustainable and intermodal transport connections based on the Motorways of the Sea links in the Adriatic-Ionian Region. The project was presented through a stand visited by the EU Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc and a number of high-level participants.

4th Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum, 23-24 May 2017, Athens…

The two-day event attracted an impressive number of visitors from the tourism sector and provided a cooperative platform for the development of the cruise and yachting industry, bringing together ports & destinations, shipping companies, governmental bodies and tourism associations. The participants of the forum paid special attention to the potential of new investment opportunities in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea region.

2nd Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic…

The 2nd EUSAIR Forum was jointly organised by the European Commission and the Hellenic Republic with the support of the EUSAIR Facility Point. The forum paid special to the Blue Growth strategy and its interrelations with the other EUSAIR pillars including environmental quality, sustainable tourism and connectivity. It was a great networking opportunity, refreshing existing cooperations and establishing new networks.

The event was organized in the context of the EUSAIR strategy and focused in the development of a new framework for transport and entrepreneurship. The event brought together representatives from ministerial and other governmental bodies, port authorities, shipping companies and SME’s from Greece and Italy in an effort to promote synergies towards seamless logistic chains and the use of ports as multimodal nodes.

WECAN – WomEn in transport Cooperation And Networking Cluster is an initiative jointly implemented by a number of transport SME’s from Greece, Italy and Croatia. Founded in 2015, by GATES Ltd, SI-IES Srl, LOGOTEAM d.o.o, the initiative attempts to record the needs and expectations of the transport sector towards gender equality and at the same time to create a framework of structured cooperation between female transport professionals and businesses. WECAN was officially launched by its actors at the 1st Working Meeting on 21/04/2015 in Rome, which concluded with the approval and signing of the WECAN Cooperation Agreement.
